As a whole, the industry also appeared to begin seriously prioritizing sustainability. Major brands began implementing eco-friendly materials into their designs and many announced plans to reduce their production of harmful emissions and waste. As one example, Nike released the ‘Air Zoom Alphafly Next Nature,’ a highspeed running shoe made from 50% recycled material.
Interestingly, 2021 witnessed a notable rise in golf-inspired streetwear and vice-versa — streetwear-inspired golfwear. For example, superstar rapper Drake officially unveiled his long-awaited golf apparel collection titled ‘NOCTA x Nike Golf,’ which leveraged a variety of subtly stylish urban design codes. Meanwhile, Bogey Boys launched its ‘Holiday 2021’ collection, giving a range of vintage golf apparel silhouettes a contemporary, street-ready upgrade.
