Matt Stafford, Ryan Tannehill’s wives celebrate Titans’ plan to keep Bengals fans out of stadium

Lauren Tannehill and Kelly Stafford are tipping their hats to the Titans’ latest playoff strategy.

Ahead of Tennessee’s divisional-round showdown against Cincinnatti, the Titans changed their ticket transferring rules in the hope of limiting the amount of Bengals fans in attendance at Nissan Stadium.

“We want Nissan Stadium to be two-tone blue. And so by limiting this transfer window, it also limits the number of visiting team fans that we’ll have in the stadium,” Brooke Ellenberger, the VP of Ticketing for the Titans, recently said to Nashville’s News Channel 5.

“By limiting that transfer time would limit some of the resale and some of that transfer activity that would happen in advance,” she continued.

In short, tickets cannot be transferred until 24 hours before kickoff if purchased directly from the Titans or NFL-approved sites, per Channel 5.

As news of the Titans’ plan made its way around the internet, both Lauren Tannehill and Kelly Stafford, the wives of Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill and Rams signal-caller Matthew Stafford, respectively, offered their thoughts on the move.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Lauren re-shared a Sports Illustrated post about the Titans’ efforts, calling it “incredible.” Kelly posted the same piece to her Instagram Story with the message, “This is awesome.”

Leading up to Monday’s wild-card playoff game against the Cardinals, Kelly pleaded to Rams fans not to sell their tickets to Arizona supporters, citing an invasion from 49ers loyalists at SoFi Stadium the week before.

“I’m not going to lie, I have never seen so many of the opposing team’s fans at a game,” Kelly said. “We came from Detroit, and there are a lot of good traveling teams there, but that was wild.”

Although the Rams fell to the Niners in their regular-season finale, they bounced back a week later with a playoff victory over the Cardinals.

With the Buccaneers hosting the Rams on Sunday, here’s hoping Tampa Bay won’t tweak their ticketing policy in the coming days.
