Gerry Turner has made his final decision. In Thursday’s penultimate episode of The golden bachelorThe 72-year-old retired restaurateur went on Fantasy Suite dates with his last two women, after which he decided which one he wants to propose to.
When he arrived in Costa Rica for the next week, Gerry reflected on what was to come.
“I thought that when I retired at age 55 I had already had all the excitement I was going to see and all the great moments. Little did I know that 17 years later, I am on the biggest adventure of my life,” he said. . “…I can’t believe how close I am to finding the second love of my life.”
As for the connotation of Fantasy Suites (a time when the cameras leave the couple alone overnight, presumably to have sex), Gerry said he saw the time behind closed doors as an opportunity to “ask the tough questions.” that are strictly between two people, and we also have the opportunity to be physically intimate with each other.
Then, during a conversation with the host Jesse PalmerGerry said he “wouldn’t want to rush” a sexual moment with either woman.
“At this age, it’s softer, it’s slow, it’s something you can savor,” Gerry told the sex cams, “because it’s something more special.” [thing] you can have.”
First was Gerry’s date with Leslie, during which they climbed down a cliff to see a waterfall. After dinner, Gerry and Leslie spoke candidly about sex, with Gerry revealing that it had been “a long time” since she slept with anyone and Leslie pointing out that it had been a year for her.
Then they moved on to the practical aspects of their potential romance, like where they would live.
“At the end of the day I love you and I want to be with you. I don’t know what that means, but I think we can work it out,” Leslie said. Gerry agreed and told Leslie that if they were committed to each other it would be “until death do us part.”
“Till death do us part is foreign to me. I’ve never had that. I’ve been searching for it my whole life and even through two marriages,” Leslie said. “…I don’t want to be alone anymore. You’re all I want, really. I want to do it.”
“Then we will,” Gerry replied.
They agreed to continue their night in the Fantasy Suite, during which Gerry told Leslie about some advice he received from the first Bachelorette: Tristan Sutter.
“Trista gave me some advice. She said, ‘Gerry, you have to find the woman you can’t live without, not the one you can live with.’ I think you’re the one. I think you’re that one,” Gerry said. “…I don’t know how we’re going to decide where we’re going to live. We’ll have to figure it out. But I don’t think there’s anyone else she’d rather try to figure it out with.”
Leslie agreed and with that, the cameras left the couple alone for the night. For those wondering what happened when the cameras were off, well, you’re out of luck.
“People want to know what happens in these Fantasy Suites. There’s a bit of curiosity they want to satisfy,” Gerry said in a confessional. “Honestly, I feel like it’s none of your business. But I will say this: The relationship with Leslie improved significantly over the course of our night last night. I saw more of her, a lot more. I feel like she certainly could be the person I spend the day with.” rest of my life.”
After his unforgettable date with Leslie, Gerry got distracted and headed to his one-on-one horseback date with Theresa.
“It’s getting a lot harder to compartmentalize this,” Gerry admitted to the cameras. “I look at Theresa saying, ‘Oh my God, what’s wrong with you, Turner? She’s the woman for you,’ but at the same time I’m thinking, ‘What is Leslie doing right now?'”
Gerry decided to go ahead anyway and managed to have a revealing dinner with Theresa, during which they talked about her career, as well as her reasons for signing up for the show after giving up on love following the death of her husband.
“I thought, ‘That’s probably why I didn’t find anyone, because I had to find you,'” Theresa told Gerry about how she got the call to join. The golden bachelor. “I really saw it as destiny.”
Gerry and Theresa agreed to continue the evening in the Fantasy Suite, and Theresa revealed that she had not slept with anyone since her husband’s death.
“I’m ready,” she told the cameras. “I want to spend the night with Gerry. Gerry seems as excited as I am.”
The next morning, the couple agreed that things felt “very different” between them — in a good way.
“Waking up with Theresa this morning, I feel like it’s the first day of the rest of my life,” Gerry, who told Theresa he loves her while the cameras were away, said in a confessional. “…I realized that we understood each other on a very fundamental level… Any questions or concerns I had about Theresa disappeared within the first hour or hour and a half of talking. It was incredible.”
Theresa agreed, telling the cameras: “If he asks me to marry him, I would say yes.”
All of this left Gerry with an “impossible” choice”, although he was able to make a decision.
“Right now, I’m dying inside. I’m in love with both of them, and in each case I’ve told them ‘I love you’. With each of them I can see a life together,” he said. “Life with Leslie would be a very exciting life. She’s adventurous. She takes care of me and I take care of her. But Theresa and I have this bond. We know what the other person is feeling. We know what they’ve been doing.” through.”
