After almost four hours, I’m not entirely convinced that red drop It’s a good game, unless there’s a lot of hidden depth, it feels like a rare Arkane glitch.
But unlike that other recent big release, Star Wars Jedi: Survivoryou can make it playable on the Steam Deck with a few simple tweaks.
I’m not saying that it will be seen good, but it’s much better than the default setting!
Before: 24 fps for this grainy mess below.
So what is the magic solution? Well, the game seems to default to a medium spec of 800p on the platform, and with a form of AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR 2.1 quality) which doesn’t seem to be working on the platform at the moment.
Instead, I run the game at 1280 x 720p, low spec, with FSR 2.1 Ultra Performance, and while it might make the game look a bit jerky in motion, at least it’s now playable!
Here are the settings I used:

Before you start playing the game, I recommend one more setting: Open the platform’s quick settings menu, and under Performance, set your Refresh Rate to 40 Hz and Frame Limiter to 40 fps. That should improve both battery life and responsiveness – you might notice my setup draws more power, but I immediately saw a drop in wattage after I locked the refresh rate and FPS to 40 each.
Until or unless Bethesda and AMD issue some fixes, that’s my recommendation for red drop on deck.
