(WJW) – Actress Shannen Doherty shared heartbreaking news about her cancer.
Doherty said her stage 4 breast cancer has spread to her bones.
Doherty is now 52 years old. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. After a mastectomy and chemotherapy, she went into remission.
The cancer returned in 2019. Doherty announced his diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic cancer in 2020.
Earlier this year, he said the cancer had spread to his brain, a tumor that was removed.
“I don’t want to die,” he said in an interview with GENTE.
The “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Charmed” star said she is still undergoing treatment.
“I’m not done with life. I’m not done with loving. I’m not done with the creation. I’m not done hoping to change things for the better,” she said, cracking a smile. “I’m just not…not done.”
Doherty is launching a memoir-style podcast, “Let’s Be Straight with Shannen Doherty.”
Premieres December 6 on iHeartRadio.
“When you ask yourself: ‘Why me? ‘Why did I get cancer?’ and then ‘Why did my cancer come back? Why am I in stage 4? “That leads you to seek a greater purpose in life,” she explains.
Doherty hopes to participate in clinical trials and said he hopes to return to work.
“People just assume that means you can’t walk, you can’t eat, you can’t work. They put you out to pasture at a very young age: ‘You’re done, you’re retired.’ And we’re not,” he said. “We are vibrant and have a very different perspective on life. “We are people who want to work, embrace life and keep moving forward,” he said.
Doherty’s acting credits date back to 1981. Her first major role was as Jenny Wilder on “Little House on the Prairie.”
“My greatest memory is yet to come,” he said.
