The sheriff’s office said one of his deputies and two CHP officers fired their weapons after the suspect was seen holding the knife. The sheriff’s office said it is still unclear whether a deputy or a CHP officer fired his gun first. Both the suspect who was shot by police and the injured motorcyclist were taken to the hospital in critical condition, Sacramento Metro Fire said. The sheriff’s office said the suspect died at the hospital. No sheriff’s office deputies or CHP officers were injured during the chase or shooting.
