Chicago’s Survivor Series WarGames was overshadowed by rampant rumors about CM Punk’s return, although several outlets have denied that there is smoke in this fire. For now.

Team Bianca wins the women’s WarGames match
Michael Cole was sure to reiterate that if anyone escaped the cage in WarGames, his team would lose the right. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but I don’t think Cole would have highlighted that rule if it hadn’t happened in any of these games.
Bayley and Becky Lynch began a fight that was very hot from the beginning.
The fans wasted no time chanting “we want tables,” and when Shotzi came to the ring, he brought all the weapons except the table.
The babyfaces won the fan vote by the man advantage, leading to the always awkward moment of two babyfaces versus one heel.
Iyo Sky wrestled in her fifth WarGames match before Charlotte Flair wrestled in her first.
Iyo Sky hit a springboard double dropkick, from one ring to the other, and the fans immediately started chanting his name.
Bianca Belair was next and she had two braids for this match. Needless to say, she made use of both.
Chants of “This is awesome” were drowned out by a countdown to the next combatant: Kairi Sane.
The fans once again chanted for tables as Kairi made her way to the ring, and once again, they were completely ignored.
Kairi Sane was launched towards Shotzi in an impressive elbow.
Charlotte was next in her WarGames debut. As she unleashed a barrage of punches, Kairi fell before Charlotte could land a blow and Michael Cole was beyond amused.
Iyo Sky was able to get another trash can into the cage by dropping a chain on Dakota Kai and having Kai hook the chain to the trash can. Iyo put the can on his head and took to the field. The “holy shit” chants were well deserved.
Asuka finally brought the table in with a loud pop as the heels in this match continue to act as babyfaces.
The obligatory Tower of Doom was actually interrupted by stereo powerbombs from Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch, followed by a crazy moonsault from Charlotte Flair.
There was a sequence in which Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch coexisted like hell. Fans applauded them for working together and exploded even louder when they hugged them.
Bayley took the bullet for Kairi Sane while Charlotte attacked her with a spear. Bayley took everyone’s finish and even went through a table.
Even though Bayley took all those bullets, it’s still likely to cause Damage CTRL to turn on her.

GUNTER Def. Mrs
Backstage, Sami Zayn said that Randy Orton didn’t show up and the fans immediately started chanting for CM Punk.
As expected, GUNTHER dominated and intimidated Miz early in this match.
The Miz came back with an awkward hurricane and kicks, but GUNTHER immediately put out Miz’s fire.
The Miz hit GUNTHER with two low blows and a Skullcrushing Finale for a big reaction and a near fall.
GUNTHER won with a Lion Tamer and deflated the crowd similar to when GUNTHER cuts a promo. A solid match though.
The Miz vs. GUNTHER Grade: B-
Santos Escobar Def. dragon lee
Chicago audiences treated Dragon Lee like a big star, and I promise it won’t fall on deaf ears in Stamford.
Santos Escobar went full AEW by ripping off Dragon Lee’s mask, and the Chicago crowd chanted “culero!”
Santos Escobar is doing well as a heel, but Dragon Lee turned out to be the bigger star.
Santos Escobar vs. Dragon Lee Grade: B
Rhea Ripley defeats. Zoey Stark
Zoey Stark wore bear claw face paint, while Rhea Ripley sported a makeshift mowhawk with raven-like face paint.
The fans were behind Ripley with loud “Mommy” chants, but the story of the match from the beginning was that Zoey Stark beat Ripley, who struggled to figure out Zoey.
After bouncing Zoey Stark off a post, Ripley took control of the match.
Rhea Ripley hit a chokeslam off the top rope and Stark overcorrected for a very scary slam. Fortunately, Stark was fine.
Rhea Ripley vs. Zoey Stark Grade: C+
Team Cody wins men’s WarGames, CM Punk returns
Drew McIntyre came in alone, while Judgment Day came out as a unit. All members of Judgment Day looked at McIntyre suspiciously, especially Damian Priest, who was face to face with McIntyre for the entire entrance.
The men’s WarGames began with loud “CM Punk” chants and WWE only has itself to blame. The chants continued throughout WarGames.
JD McDonagh’s new nickname is “the necessary evil.”
Jey Uso entered the match with “yeet” chants and Drew McIntyre was not very happy.
McIntyre was ready to enter, but Damian Priest rejected him and entered himself. This caused a huge reaction from the crowd.
Unlike the WarGames women’s match, it was Babyface (on Sami Zayn) who introduced the table. Fans exploded and chanted “Ucey!” and “thank you Sami!” Up until this point, Sami was the biggest babyface in the match.
McIntyre came in last, running across the field and stalking Jey Uso like a lion stalks a wounded gazelle.
Jey and Sami performed a 1D and it didn’t get the pop it deserved.
During Cody Rhodes’ entrance, Michael Cole said, “Cody Rhodes also invented a great event in this city!”
In another “can they coexist” moment, Rhodes and Rhodes teamed up for a double clothesline with a gun.
Dominik Mysterio received incredible heat before he was even let out of the cage. Mysterio leaned into the reaction with his patented Three Amigos suplexes.
The fans finally began chanting “Randy,” but the chants were quickly drowned out by more “CM Punk” chants.
After the final countdown, and after Seth Rollins was impaled through a table, Rhea Ripley came to the ring with the Money in the Bank briefcase and a referee. This led Randy Orton to massive pop.
Orton and Uso caused tension, only for them to coexist as well.
McDonagh attempted to escape through the cage, which would have lost his team the match.
Orton RKOed a flying JD McDonagh causing a big reaction. Cody Rhodes won the match by pinning Dominik Mysterio.
