Upcoming Xbox server closures in November and December
The first upcoming server shutdown is for Bandai Namco’s Gundam Evolution on November 29. As the free-to-play multiplayer FPS is an online-only game, Gundam Evolution’s 12 achievements will be discontinued.
Next up is Rocket League, and it’s not necessarily a server shutdown, but rather the shutdown of an online feature that will affect numerous Xbox achievements. On December 5, Psyonix will remove player trading from Rocket League, which, as it stands, will suspend one achievement and make nine more much harder to unlock.
Courtesy of EA, several server shutdowns will occur in early December. Battlefield 1943, Battlefield: Bad Company, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Mirror’s Edge, Mirrors Edge Catalyst, Crysis 3, Dead Space 2, and Dante’s Inferno will lose online functionality on December 8. Of all these games, only Mirror’s Edge and Dead Space 2 do not include any Xbox Online achievements.
Finally, on December 31, the servers will shut down for both Anvil: Vault Breaker and NBA 2K22. All achievements in Anvil: Vault Breaker will be suspended once the server is shut down, while NBA 2K22 will lose 30 online achievements and NBA 2K22 (Xbox One) will lose 39 online achievements.
As for server shutdowns a little further afield, Ubisoft recently announced that it would be shutting down online services on three Xbox 360 games, with Warface: Breakout’s servers shutting down in April.
